About the Michigan Space Forum

Growing the Space and Technology Industry in Michigan
May 31 - June 1
08:00 am
The Michigan Space Forum, held at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City, Michigan, is the premier space event in the Great Lakes region. Founded in 2018, the Forum brings together industry experts ranging from space, aerospace, engineering, academia, and entrepreneurial backgrounds.
The Michigan Space Forum is a two day interactive platform for exciting and substantive discussion regarding Michigan's role in shaping the next generation of space architecture. Topics include how the state can entice businesses to develop space technology on "The Third Coast," the cultivation of the "Astropreneur," and how innovations in space can be used to study Earth and improve communications on a global scale.
Our goal is to provide an intimate, interactive arena to discuss the issues, successes, and innovations taking place in the space industry - and how all of this is shaping the education and growth of tomorrow's space leaders.

Registration

The Michigan Space Forum is proud to announce that educators in our state are able to earn SCHECH credits for their attendance at the forum.  We believe our educators are the firebrand that will steer the scientists, astronauts, and problem solvers of tomorrow — be sure to ask about our teacher and student discounts!

Registration with the Michigan Space Forum is quick and easy!  Follow this link to our registration page.  We've partnered with MyNorth Tickets to ensure that attendance at the Michigan Space Forum is driven locally, with national pull.  Tickets sell for $199, and cover both days of participation in the Michigan Space Forum!  We are offering discounted rates to the following groups: military, first responders, educators, young professionals (hard-working professionals younger than thirty), post-secondary students, and K-12 students.  If you would like to take advantage of any of these promotions, reach out to us!  We can't wait to learn, connect, and grow with all attendees.

Lodging

We have partnered with the Holiday Inn - West Bay Beach to bring Michigan Space Forum attendees the best access to our event.  Our promotional rate room block has been filled up, but this is still the closest hotel to the venue, and most traveling attendees will be staying here.  Make your reservations while there's still room!

Activities

Art

There is a wide variety of art on exhibit in Traverse City.  Culturally vibrant, expressive, and intriguing, spending some time indulging in the local art scene is a great way to switch gears outside of the space forum.  Find some suggestions here.

Outdoors

Northern Michigan is home to the best four-season environment found anywhere.  Around the time of the forum, Mother Nature will be kicking things into high gear and ramping up for the summer — a great time to be outside.  TART Trails is a fantastic resource for finding a hike that suits you.

Food and Drink

When your city is built on ideals of health, hard work, and community involvement, a great food and drink scene is sure to follow.  Your options will be seemingly endless, but you can use this article to narrow down your list.

Poster Competition

For the first time, the Michigan Space Forum will be hosting a poster competition! Here's some guidance:
During the forum, there will be student groups and individuals with posters detailing their project, studies, or interests — their "thing."  Please make your way around to the different posters and vote for your favorite using our Slido poll.  The winner will go home with $250!

There will be a separate contest and prize money for a winner that will be determined by a panel of five space experts.  The winner of this contest will receive a check for $1,000 courtesy of Unreal Engine.
Best of luck to all of the competitors!
